Phonic and fine motor skills can be so easy and fun! This can be used at home when you simply want your child to sit still whilst you get some chores done OR classroom phonics activity. Laminate + whiteboard pen makes it a fun and reusable resource for children. Write a word you want them to learn, have them make it with play-dough, cooked spaghetti, Lego… anything! And then write it themselves on the lines! This helps them to learn spellings, encourage their fine motor skills and write on the lines, independently. All of my students love this activity on a morning, when they first enter the classroom and need a brain warm up. in a variety on colours / styles.

Before a student gives you their words and you correct the mistakes that they already know about, give them this check list! They start are the first point and follow the arrow step-by-step to make sure they have remembered everything they need in their words, before showing the teacher. Works wonders and save so much times! Allows and supports children in being more confident in checking their own work before asking a teacher.
